We've sent equipment to Botswana, India, Kenya, Nepal, and Uganda

Who We Are

At a glance: one used uniform goes a long way...

Created in 2004, Second Kicks is a non-profit charitable sports organization committed to helping communities in Canada and around the world with a love for soccer by collecting used soccer uniforms and equipment from the Toronto area and distributing to children, youths and families in economically disadvantaged communities.

We receive many heart warming replies from the communities we reach out, for example, these words from a community partner in Nepal:

"When I first tried to organize a soccer team, there were not so many students on the field because we did not have soccer uniform and boots to wear. However, after we received the uniform and boots, so many students really wanted to join and practice soccer and wanted to have taste of boots and uniform. I was so happy to see that many kids came to me and said 'I want to wear soccer uniform and I want to play soccer'. Now these days we can see almost all the students playing soccer on the field."

In addition to the direct help being provided from the uniform collection, Seconds Kicks is also a way to engage the younger members of the community in a project that encourages them to help others. As well as participating in the drive, children and youth help on sorting day each year - which also provides community service hours for those in high school.

A volunteer board is in place to ensure that Second Kicks stays true to its original purpose. We operate at a grassroots level and work with established non-profit organizations as a way of finding suitable communities and to make certain that the uniforms and equipment are delivered directly. Interest from other clubs to contribute to our drive continues to grow each year.
